The title of this piece is literal. I stitched this during a time of great despair. I did not know how to hold all of the pain that I was feeling so I let the fibers hold them for me. I am so much stronger today than I was then, and when I look at his piece now I see the promise of better days ahead if you don’t let the pain convince you that it is all there is.
It is made from vintage and thrifted textiles, including a shell button, lace and squares of velcro in shades of white, cream, beige and deep red.
